Christmas Roll and Draw Game Christmas Directed Drawing Activity Holiday Drawing
This Christmas Roll and Draw Game turns drawing practice into a low-prep classroom game. Students roll a die to choose the drawing elements for each step, so every student ends up with a different holiday artwork.
It mixes structured drawing practice with creative decision-making, and suits elementary classrooms, homeschool learning, art centers, fast finishers and holiday lessons. Students draw Christmas subjects such as a stocking, bells, a wreath, a gingerbread character, a candy cane character, a Christmas tree, Santa Claus, an elf, a reindeer and a present.

HOW TO USE IT
Students start with a Roll and Draw chart that shows several choices for each step of the picture, such as a different shape, face, pattern, accessory or decoration. They roll a die to see which option to draw, and keep rolling until the character or object is complete. Then they color, paint or decorate it with the materials you choose.
The activity builds creative thinking, problem solving, drawing confidence and artistic risk-taking. It works with crayons, colored pencils, markers, oil pastels, watercolor, tempera or mixed media, and the pages can become sketchbook glue-ins, art center activities, early finisher work, sub plans or a holiday drawing booklet.
