Legendary F.B.I. agent John Douglas is known as the Godfather of the Bureau's Criminal Personality Profiling Program. At the Behaviorial Science Unit, Douglas - as portrayed on the wildly-popular Netflix show Mindhunters, and as the muse for Criminal Mind's head profilers Gideon and Rossi along with Jack Crawford in Thomas Harris' Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon - literally pioneered the art and science of criminal profiling by interviewing face to face the world's worst serial killers, studying their minds of Charlie Manson, Ted Bundy, The Son of Sam, Ed Kemper, the Green River Killer Gary Ridgeway and many more. Putting his keen profiling ability to work in the field solving real cases, including Atlanta child killer Wayne Williams, he later reflected on all of these cases in the best-selling book MINDHUNTER: Inside the F.B.I.'s Elite Serial Crime Unit, later adapted to into the hit NETFLIX series MINDHUNTERS.
