What Does “Inclusive Language” Mean?

Welcome to this introduction to Inclusive Language, What does it mean and how can we demonstrate it?

Endeavoring for Inclusive language is a crucial for:

·        Developing or enhancing your personal Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (or DEI) abilities,

·        Supporting and enhancing your allyship aspirations

·        Transferring your company’s DEI initiatives from paper to demonstrable actions.

Understanding Inclusive language helps you:

1)     Make better assessments of someone else's and your own speech to better analyze intention and impact 

2)     Be more intentional about demonstrating conscious-concern© for your audience

These two concepts are just two of many integral qualities of demonstrating Inclusive Language.

In this beginner’s presentation, we’ll identify some conditions or environments that are indicators to particularly consider when choosing your language or word-choices.
