Amelia Hat

Amelia is a classic slouchy or beanie hat made from bottom up in the rounds. Pretty and clever cable-like lacy texture made with knits, purls and yarn overs makes knitting interesting and fun.

SIZES
Small { Large }
Small: to fit 51.5 cm / 20.5” head circumference.
Large: to fit 57 cm / 22.75” head circumference.
Length (from CO to top): beanie 21.5 cm / 8.5”, slouchy 24 cm / 9.5”.

YARN
For a hat you’ll need about 150 { 160 } m of any DK weight yarn.
Sample was made with Amelia Włóczki Warmii ( 100% Wool-Merino; 210m / 230y per 100g ).

NEEDLES
3.75 mm (US #5) circular needles or dpns, or size needed to get the right gauge;
3.0 mm (US #2.5) circular needles or dpns, or three sizes smaller than the gauge needles.

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS
1 stitch marker, tapestry needle for weaving ends.

GAUGE
21 sts and 32 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 “ - in texture pattern worked in the round with 3.75 mm (US #5) needles, after wet blocking.
28 sts and 36 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 “ - in 1x1 rib pattern with 3.0 mm
(US #2.5) needles, after wet blocking.
Adjust needle size if necessary to get given gauge.
