Mini-crin pattern - Sizes UK8-24

I just love the silhouette of a mini crinoline! It's fanciful, full of whimsy, and just crying out for a special occasion. When trying on my lacy leather version I just wanted to go somewhere special and flounce around the place - there's just something about those jutting hips. Engineering structured corsets is my favourite design aesthetic without a shadow of a doubt.

I made this with no front opening and the instructions reflect that, but you could of course insert a busk or zip if you preferred. The bottom panel 7 can also be omitted if you wanted a shorter version. I made my leather version just a bit longer than the pattern by the way to give it a feel of a 60s minidress.

I have drafted it in sizes UK8-24/ US4-20. There is a large hip spring and the waist is only meant to be moderately cinching, so when planning a size, I'd go for the waist size minus 1 or 2''. The hips are meant to be larger than actual hip measurements and are kept rigid by 3mm thick felt that has been hand-stitched to the hip area.
