Pre-requisite / Entry level:

A Level 3 certificate or diploma in sports massage therapy.

Course format:

7 practical (classroom) training / assessment days + online learning modules + case studies

+ monthly video calls for coursework support (dates tbc)

Course content:

• USP46 Conducting subjective and objective assessment
• USP47 Provide sports massage techniques to prevent and manage injury
• USP48 Treatment modalities to support soft tissue repair

Duration:

• GLH (Guided Learning Hours): 128. (GLH incl’s. practical, coursework, case studies, assessments, research/reading, revision, written exams)
• Home study (Coursework): This is completed in your own time
• Practical Training: Please check out our current course dates on our website for the practical training element, additional dates can be supplied.

Attendance:

7 classroom days (ALL dates must be attended)

+ monthly video calls for coursework support (dates tbc)

Model required:

• Yes, you will be required to work on models to carry out your case studies at home.
• You may be required to bring a model for one to one training, and for your assessments

Case Studies:

You must carry out and document evidence of a minimum of 36 treatments on a variety of conditions and covering all major joints

VTCT - Vocational training & charitable trust

Career potential:

Sports massage therapist - employed or self-employed, working in a salon or spa or as a home / mobile therapist.

How this could benefit your clients:

Work with clients to prevent and manage injury as well as advise and support your clients through each stage of injury with soft tissue repair, working on non-acute injuries and pre-existing conditions (medical consent may be required before working on clients).

Additional Costs:

You will need to purchase your own products and oils to bring to the training & in order to carry out your case studies, ie massage medium such as grapeseed oil or massage wax
