I still remember that day vividly. It was during one of our fellowship meetings at Rhema Chapel Campus Fellowship, University of Ilorin, (Permanent Site). The atmosphere was charged with expectation (as I was newly elected an Exco), and as I rose to give a short charge, a phrase kept rising from deep within me, almost unplanned, yet with divine urgency:

“What Is Your Joy, Souls Are Perishing?”

I repeated it again and again—not out of rhetoric, but from a burden burning in my heart. It was as though the Spirit of God was speaking directly to us, piercing through our routines and comforts, calling us back to the heartbeat of heaven.

That day, something happened. The words didn’t just echo in the Amphi, Lecture Theatre; they took root in hearts. Till today, many who were present still remember that phrase. It became a rallying cry—a reminder that the greatest joy of a believer is not in achievements, possessions, or earthly pursuits, but in the salvation of souls.

This book was born out of that divine moment. It is a call to reawaken the believer’s passion for Evangelism in a generation where many other pursuits often overshadow the Great Commission. Jesus commanded us to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). Paul charged Timothy to “do the work of an Evangelist” (2 Timothy 4:5). Yet, in many circles, evangelism has become a neglected duty rather than a joyful lifestyle.

Throughout the chapters of this book, we will journey through the heartbeat of God for souls, examine the forgotten mandate of the Church, and challenge every reader to reconsider what truly brings them joy. We will explore the cry of the perishing, the reward of soul winning, and practical strategies for personal and collective Evangelism in today’s world.

This is not merely a theological discourse; it is a heart cry. My desire is that as you read, the same fire that burned that day in the fellowship hall will ignite within you afresh. That you will not only admire the zeal of Evangelists like Reinhard Bonnke and others but rise to take your place in the great harvest field.

May this book stir your heart, challenge your priorities, and awaken in you the joy of heaven—the joy of seeing souls saved.
