I started writing this book with my younger pupils in mind, 8 years old children who just started playing the trumpet. I needed to come up with warm-up exercises that allowed the pupils to play spontaneously, reaching certain technical benchmark at the same time, without preexisting theoretical notions. In the first exercise all the 7 positions are found, the first two slurred notes already encouraging in the correct musical phrase direction. Eventually, the book evolved to become a good warm up exercises source also for more skilled trumpet player. I composed the exercises' accompaniment in order to make the execution more enjoyable and to help getting the musicality out of them, but most of all to highlight the importance of rhythm and intonation.
