We are beyond excited to host our dear friend, tantrika, musician and bhakti devotee - Jenny Ní Ruiséil on her first visit to Glasgow all the way from the west coast of Ireland! She will collaborate with local legend Dan Gronan on a very special kirtan session.
Kirtan is a form of bhakti yoga - the radical yoga tradition championing devotion as a pathway to liberation - where call & response mantra is used as a communal form of prayer & celebration. Jenny offers sessions bilingually in the Irish language, alongside traditional sanskrit mantra & bhajan. Jenny is a passionate advocate for reclaiming land, language and indigenous Celtic traditions.
In this session Jenny and Dan will offer kirtan together followed by a Q&A & group discussion where Jenny will share her insight into working with Irish language, stories and traditions as part of a devotional practice and Dan will offer an overview of the Bhakti yoga tradition and the place of kirtan within it.
The session is open to all practitioners with an interest in Bhakti, kirtan, or the weaving of traditional indigenous practices.
