Behind the bar stands Onix, still as stone,
Once flesh and fear, now skin and bone.
Not a villain, not cursed by flame;
Just a man too scared to stake his claim.
When choices came, he froze instead,
Let dreams decay inside his head,
Watched doors close and bridges die,
Whispered “Later.” But Later lied.
The panic rose, a drowning tide,
Each heartbeat drummed what he denied.
“What if” became the beast he fed,
'Til nothing lived but fear and dread.
He reached for life; it slipped away,
His echoes haunt the end of days.
No sin of blood, no cruel decree;
Just a damned doubt of what could be.

There are whispers told only in half-dreams, in those restless hours when night feels heavy and the world grows quiet. Some say that when the weight of your sins drags too deep, a bar might appear.
It is not a door you recognize, nor one that should exist where it does.
This bar is an impossible place.
Bottles gleam in colors no vineyard could produce, and the air hums with music that never quite reaches the ear. It feels timeless; welcoming and foreboding, alive and yet hollow. Patrons are few, but all who enter are souls wandering: the living, the dead, and those who have not yet decided which side of the threshold they belong to.
The Keeper listens to those who enter, inviting them to spill their woes, regrets, ambitions, and sins across the counter. Then, with steady hands, he pours their drink. No wine or whiskey, but vessels filled with cravings; Bravery, Lust, Redemption, Despair, Desire, Clarity. Every glass is a reflection of the soul that ordered it, every sip a choice that binds them further to their fate.
Some drinks strengthen, some corrupt, and some are poisons disguised as blessings, but none leave unchanged. Some return renewed, their burdens lifted by the strange clarity he provides. Others stagger back into the world with chains heavier than before, their fate sealed by what they dared to taste. And some… never leave at all.
Their voices blend into the murmurs that haunt the velvet-dark walls, reminders of choices made. The Bar of the In-Between cannot be sought; it seeks you; and when it does, you will understand: you are walking the same fate he could never escape.
