Professional Development: Teaching Black Students With A New Approach
Allowing Educators to learn about the historical culture of their black students while equipping them with the tools to support them
Allowing Educators to learn about the historical culture of their black students while equipping them with the tools to support them
I created this course because of the anti-blackism my children and I have had in the school system. I've experienced it as a student, a staff and a parent. I want to be a part of the change that I so badly want to see.
Since leaving my career as a Behavioural Specialist in a school setting in 2015, I have had a dream of creating tangible tools educators could use. It has been a long journey, and I'm so glad it has landed me on this platform. School boards have a chance to prove to their community of parents that they are serious about creating a more inclusive school by investing in my course. It will equip those in their schools who truly want to do better in supporting their students the tools to do so. I have the opportunity to help the students who look like my children receive the support they so desperately want. Taking my course will bring teachers and educators a bit closer to total inclusivity in their schools.
