Seven calculators for pricing lawn work from your own costs, not from someone else's rate card: the hourly floor your income needs, the price of a cut from lot size and your measured mowing speed, what driving between lawns costs, equipment and fuel per job, a seasonal contract billed monthly, and add-ons like leaf cleanup. Start with sheet 1 -- in the worked example the floor is $53.61 an hour on a lawn. Every figure is an example for you to overwrite; none of it is a claim about what lawn care sells for. These are estimates, not financial advice. Every formula was recalculated and checked against an independent implementation before this shipped.

What is in it

7 calculators, one per sheet. Overwrite the blue cells with your own numbers and everything else follows — nothing is locked, there are no macros, and it opens in Excel, Numbers, LibreOffice and Google Sheets.

  • Hourly floor rate — What must an hour on a lawn bring in to hit your income?
  • Price per cut — What should one mowing visit on this lot cost?
  • Drive time between stops — How much of the day goes to driving, and what does it cost?
  • Equipment cost per hour — What does the equipment cost for each hour it runs?
  • Seasonal contract — What is the monthly bill for a season of mowing?
  • Add-on pricing — What should an extra job like a leaf cleanup cost?
  • Fuel cost per job — How much fuel does one lawn burn, truck and mower together?

Every formula was checked

This pack contains 44 formulas. Before it was published, every one of them was recalculated by a spreadsheet engine and compared against an independent implementation of the same arithmetic written in Python. All 44 agreed to within a cent, and the workbook carries a Verification sheet saying so.

That is an unusual thing to be able to claim about a spreadsheet, and it is the main reason to buy this one rather than download a free template. A formula that looks right and is wrong is worse than no formula at all, because you will act on it.

What each calculator assumes

There is a sheet listing this, because a calculator that hides its assumptions is just a number generator:

  • A floor, not a market price: it is what you need, not what a customer will pay. Income tax and self-employment tax are not computed; include them in the income figure if you want them covered.
  • Mowing speed is your own measured rate, constant across lots. Slopes, obstacles and tall grass slow it; raise the trim minutes or lower the rate for those lots. Driving to the lot is priced on sheet 3.
  • Lawns are evenly spaced and visited in one loop from base. Fuel for the drive is on sheet 7; this sheet prices the time.
  • Straight-line: purchase price minus resale, spread evenly over the seasons. Financing interest and the truck and trailer are not included; put those in sheet 1's overhead.
  • Every scheduled cut happens. Weeks skipped for drought or rain are not refunded or made up here; your contract decides that, so state it in writing.
  • Every person on the job is charged at the same rate. Extra equipment rented for the job goes in materials. Driving to the job is priced on sheet 3.
  • Truck, mower and handheld equipment all use fuel at the one price entered. Two-stroke oil is not costed separately. Miles per lawn assumes the same loop as sheet 3.

What this is not

Not financial, tax or legal advice, and not a recommendation to buy, sell, borrow or sign anything. These are calculators: they show what a choice costs, not which choice is right for you. Where a published rate or threshold is used it is the one current when the pack was built — those change, the arithmetic does not.

Honest about the format

One .xlsx workbook, 7 calculator sheets plus Start Here, Assumptions and Verification. Not a PDF, not a physical product, not a Notion template. Available immediately after purchase; nothing ships.
