Interactive Anchor Chart

This interactive anchor chart works for any fiction read-aloud and allows me to spend 1-2 weeks diving deeper into our story. Choose from 5 different design options.

Here is how I use it:

Monday (Prediction & Wonder): Story picture walk. Jot down our predictions and whatever questions (or wonderings) we may have based on our picture walk.

Tuesday (What Really Happened): Read the story, check our predictions, and see if our questions were answered. Jot down any corrections to your predictions.

Wednesday (Reading Skill 1): Choose a reading skill or strategy to use for your read-aloud (compare & contrast, main idea, annotation, author's purpose, drawing conclusions, visualize, etc.).

Thursday (Reading Skill 2): Choose a reading skill or strategy to use for your read-aloud (compare & contrast, main idea, annotation, author's purpose, drawing conclusions, visualize, etc.).

Friday: Review
