A Gentler Way to Lose A Few Pounds is an 8-Week reset for women over 60, a guide, and most importantly, a companion, to help you lose weight by eating what you love, just a little differently.

Dez Scott is a woman who knows what it's like to try every diet on the planet, before she invented her own way of eating which helped her to shed excess weight, and most importantly, to keep it off. Nothing is forbidden, there are no rules to abide by, it's a gentle reset, a simple, easy-to-read guide to help you lose a few pounds whilst still being able to enjoy the foods you love.

The guide takes you through each stage slowly and sustainably, from the Five Reasons Why We Eat, through a discussion on What is a Diet, and the Emotions of Diet and Weight Loss. There are also suggested store cupboard essentials and tasty recipes to try.

This is the book for you if you are tired of dieting and looking for a new approach to weight loss, one that recognises what "being on a diet" is like, by one who has been there and knows how toxic the weight loss debate has become, and how to counter it with a gentle reset.

It is in spiral notebook form to make it easy to read as it lies flat, with a nice big font, and easy to scribble on, too - think of it as your diet notebook.

Ultimately, it is a handbook for a gentle weight loss journey which, like Dez herself, you can return to whenever the need arises.

It's not a diet

This book helped me shift my thinking about food and well-being in a very soft conscious way. Informative and makes you think about being more thoughtful to yourself, your body and what keeps you and it in much better shape and condition

Well written and encouraging.

I thought this was a nice little book with kind and helpful tips. Unfortunately I realised too late that I’m not really the target audience as I already know a lot about the subject. I really shouldn’t have chosen this book as I didn’t learn anything new .
For someone who knows nothing about nutrition and diet it would be a fantastic read.
I do feel it’s very expensive for what it is but is an excellent little book for the uninitiated. Don’t let the price put you off.
