Preveli is a famous beach, located south of the city of Rethimno, in Crete island of Greece.
After crossing the Kourtaliotiko gorge, a river flows into the sea, with a natural palm forest on one side and on the other. The forest survived a fire in 2010 and has slowly recovered.
To get to Preveli beach, we left Agii Apostoli, passed the port of Chania, then along the northern coast of Crete, we reached Rethymno, from where we traveled south.
We passed through the spectacular Kotsifou gorge, and arrived at Kokkina Chorafia resort, from where we took a boat to the Preveli beach.
Kokkina Chorafia is 22 km south of the city of Rethimno.
From Kokkina Chorafia resort, where we returned by boat from to Preveli beach, we traveled by bus to Preveli Monastery.
Preveli Monastery includes two complexes, the upper one which is renovated and in operation and the lower one, from which only the ruins have been preserved.
You will also have the opportunity to see from the top the gorge that ends with Preveli beach.

Each photo has a resolution of 5472 x 3648 or 4032 x 3024 Pixels. They were made on June 15, 2021. The cameras used are Panasonic Lumix LX15 and Samsung SM-G930F.
