Here in the Southern Hemisphere, we’re heading into winter, and what better way to get cozy than by indulging in rich cable textures! I designed this cowl whilst dreaming of walking through snow-speckled woods, and it’s sure to keep you warm on your adventures too.

I didn’t want to stop there though, and also created a matching hat pattern for this cowl! Find the Tree Climber Hat pattern here. Happy knitting!

SIZE
Single loop version: approximately 50cm (19 ¾“) circumference
Double loop version: approximately 105cm (41 ¼”) circumference
Both versions: 17.5cm (7”) wide

YARN
Bendigo Woollen Mills Rustic 8ply (100% Wool; 400m {437yds}/200g), 1 ball Linen Fleck (cream) or Vine (green) colourway, or 100-200g DK weight yarn. For optimal results, the use of a non-superwash yarn is recommended.

Sample used approximately 72g (144m {157yds}) for a single loop cowl, and 150g (300m {328yds}) for a double loop cowl.

Please note that Bendigo Woollen Mills yarn is available in 200g balls. You will only need approximately ½ – ¾ of a ball if it is your choice for knitting this cowl. Also note that the yardage requirements will vary depending on changes to the length of the cowl, and any differences in gauge.

Small amount of waste yarn for provisional cast on.
