Knitting pattern Rippled Water Pareo by Anna Morwen
Sunbathing on the sea shelf…
This is a beach pareo (or a wrap, if you want) and it’s meant to be knitted from breathing cotton threads, bottom-up, flat, featuring a stunning mesh pattern. It will wrap you gently and won’t suffocate your body while resting on the beach or sipping cocktails near the pool. The pareo is of a rectangular shape and has a built in belt. It could be worn around your thighs or your chest - as you feel it at the moment. This is a relaxed, adjustable pattern which is obtainable even for the very beginners. The pattern contains clear, full instructions and is supplied with multiple links on captioned video tutorials.

Sizes
The pattern is written for 7 basic sizes, but it could be easily adjusted to your needs. Just measure the most prominent part of your body which is going to be wrapped with this pareo, and add 10 cm/4” to this number. Then think how long you want it, or you can always try it on while knitting it.
Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) with a pareo finished width of appr. 92 (102, 107.5, 117) (128.5, 138, 148) cm/36.22 (40.16, 42.32, 46) (50.6, 54.33, 58.27)” and length of appr. 78 (83, 83, 85) (87, 89, 91) cm/30.71 (32.7, 32.7, 33.47) (34.25, 35, 35.83)”.

Needles: circular or interchangeable needles 100-140 cm/40-55” long (or longer) of size 6.5 mm/US10.5/UK3.
Gauge:
10.42 stitches and 17.86 rows in 10 cm/10.57 stitches and 18.13 rounds in 4’’ in the pattern working flat with needles 6.5 mm/US10.5/UK3 after blocking.
Why is my gauge so precise?
I believe that the most accurate method to determine the gauge is to measure the whole length and width of the blocked swatch and to divide each value accordingly to the amount of the stitches and rows/rounds that you made to create your swatch. In this case, you will get fractions. Rounding these fractions to smaller or bigger whole numbers will lead to inaccurate measurements of the finished object. Only the sum of all the stitches and rows/rounds used to make an object could be rounded to maximum half of the whole number.
