Otomiru (shows as "SBSpatial" in your DAW) — Geometric Spatial Audio Plugin
Otomiru (plugin name shown in your DAW as "SBSpatial") is a real-time geometric spatial audio plugin for Mac and Windows, built natively in C++ via JUCE.
Otomiru calculates six acoustic reflection paths (echoes) of a sound / instrument source— floor, ceiling, three side walls, and the direct signal (UK Patent Application GB26001067.8, patent pending). Each path is processed using the sciences of sound. The original sound path is processed using delay, attenuation, e.q. and resultant pan position for each surface. This provides accurate height positioning within an environment as floor and ceiling signals act in the way that left and right stereo speakers work to provide left and right pan position.
Position a mono source anywhere in 3D space (x,y and z coordinates, accurate to 2 decimal places) and hear genuine room acoustics calculated for preset or an environment of your own creation. Presets include Musikerverein, Abbey Road, Boston Philharmonic, the Musikerverein glass hall and a "garage studio". Environments are created using numeric input accurate to 2 decimal places for height, width and depth, the spaces become unique when the absorption values of the building surfaces are added.
A stereo instrument track is routed to a mono aux track with the dsp inserted, the output is stereo.
For a mono instrument track the dsp is inserted directly.
