The Chief Financial Officer's Word

This membership subscription will get you familiar with the concepts and the terminology of finance and accounting.

Here is where you grow your knowledge...one word at a time, one day at a time.

The CFO's Word will give you a better understanding of the issues of personal and business finance. Your finance game will go to a whole new level. Every day, subscribers receive an email describing a word or term or concept associated with accounting or with managing personal or business finances. Here's an example:

Amortization:

The process of gradually reducing the value of an intangible asset or spreading the cost of a long-term liability over its useful life.  Understanding and properly accounting for amortization helps allocate expenses over time, resulting in more accurate financial statements.

Formula: Principal Amount / # Years of Payments = Annual Amortization Amount.

Familiarize yourself with the concept of amortization, especially when dealing with intangible assets or long-term liabilities such as loans.

The daily email will define a word or term or concept in this category, as well as provide other information for context and for clarity. Subscribing to a WORD is the easiest and best way for you to get familiarity and understanding on a topic.
