A Foundational Approach To Fine Motor Skills in the Classroom

Handwriting is much more complex than many realise. There are many children within education who repeatedly do letter formation practice, hand strengthening play doh activities and copying, yet no matter how many times they do this, their handwriting does not progress. 

This workshop is designed to give the reasons why they are not progressing or how to progress children further. It is designed for teachers and professionals to understand the skills required for children to progress from a foundational sensory motor perspective. 

What is included in the workshop?

• This is a 45 minute workshop. 
• Describes sensory motor difficulties impacting on handwriting.
• How to recognise if the child has foundational difficulties which require further  support.
• What behavioural signs will you see in the classroom.
• Step by step discussion on the foundational difficulties children can experience.
• Take away strategies, tips and advice provided throughout you can take away and integrate into the classroom straight away.
