This pattern does not teach you to crochet.

SC (recommend extended single crochet to achieve a square stitch)

H (5mm) hook #4 worsted weight yarn

16 stitches x 16 rows = 4" x 4"

Starting at the bottom working towards the top, chain 241. SC in 2nd chain from hook.

Odd numbered rows are right side.

SC Color change tip If you yarn under for color changes on the wrong side and yarn over on the right side it looks cleaner.

I suggest making a test swatch.
