Here’s what most people don’t know: the Church does not want to perform exorcisms. They require weeks, sometimes months, of medical and psychological testing first. Possession, they say, is extremely rare. But when it is real… the signs are unmistakable.

The Vatican has even formalized this ministry. The International Association of Exorcists—hundreds of priests worldwide—now operates under binding rules approved by the Pope himself.
