She pulls the zipper slowly, without haste,

as we lift a veil placed on reality.

Behind her, paint splashes and bursts —

ocher, cobalt, vermilion — the colors of his freedom.

The blue sunflower crowns her warrior head,

her night-made eyes challenge the viewer.

She was born from the brush, from light and mystery,

and she now chooses her color.

With one hand she still holds the edge of the painting,

on the other she touches the real world that awaits her.

Between two existences, sovereign and so beautiful,

she crosses the border — magnificent and alive.
