**Nocturnal Bodies**

Nocturnal Bodies continues my exploration of the figure through darkness, ambiguity and emotional presence.

In these paintings, the figure never fully gives itself away. Forms emerge from darkness, soften and disappear again, leaving fragments, gestures and traces of emotion to come forward.

The women are not portraits of individuals, but emotional presences. They resist being fully defined or explained, retaining something that belongs only to themselves.
