Sample script: The Dream Makers

The play begins in a very strange way (that's dreams for you), but all will become clear.

The Dream Makers by Barbara Hockley is a full-length play written for 11- 14-year-olds (as a guide).

It is set in a place where dreams are created (the ones we have at night!) and it's populated by actors, technicians, costume and make-up artists and all the usual crew you need in a theatre or on a movie set! When all the dream action is over, it's the 'Grounders' - the cleaners - who have to tackle the mess. This play follows the journey of a cleaner who wants to be an actor on the dream stage. Poignant, funny and heart-warming. Full of fun characters and dreams (naturally).

Themes: Dreams, dreaming, aspirations, memory, friendship, moving on, letting go, new challenges.
