Keep better site records without building your own templates from scratch.

This pack gives you a weekly site diary workbook and six Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) checklist templates set up for Australian residential and light-civil work. Metric, A4 print-ready, and they work in Excel and Google Sheets with no macros.

SITE DIARY WORKBOOK (WEEKLY)

- Setup sheet: enter the project details and the week-commencing date once; Day 1 to Day 7 dates and day names fill in automatically

- One sheet per day: weather and site conditions, labour on site by trade (with person-hours), plant and equipment, deliveries (docket numbers), work completed, delays, variations and RFIs, visitors, toolbox talk, incidents, near misses and hazards, instructions received, photo references, general notes and sign-off

- Week Summary that totals workers, person-hours, plant hours, deliveries, delays, weather hours lost, incidents and visitors for each day

- 10 editable dropdown lists (trades, plant, weather, delay types, causes, incident types and more). The dropdowns also accept typed text that isn't on the list.

- Blank workbook, a sample with two filled-in days, and a printable blank daily sheet (PDF) for handwritten use

ITP CHECKLIST TEMPLATES (.XLSX + PRINTABLE PDF)

- ITP-01 Excavation & footings

- ITP-02 Slab on ground (pre-pour)

- ITP-03 Concrete pour

- ITP-04 Blockwork

- ITP-05 Stormwater & drainage

- ITP-06 Backfill & compaction

Each ITP lists the inspection item, acceptance criteria, reference, hold / witness / review point, responsible party, conforms (Yes / No / N/A), sign-off, date and comments. Each has blank rows for your own items, an open-items counter and a completion sign-off block for the contractor, supervisor and engineer or certifier. An ITP Register shows the status of all six at a glance.

PLEASE NOTE: the ITPs are generic templates. They use general wording (for example "as per drawings / engineer's spec / relevant AS") and deliberately don't quote clause numbers, tolerances or test frequencies. Before you use them, insert your project specification, drawing references, tolerances and the hold points your contract or approval requires.

WHO IT'S FOR

Small builders, site supervisors, graduate and site engineers, owner-builders and subcontractors who want a consistent, tidy way to record each day and check work before it's covered up.

FAQ

Does it work in Google Sheets? Yes. Upload the .xlsx to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. Formulas and dropdowns carry over. Sheet protection and some print settings may not, so check the print preview before printing.

Are the ITPs compliant with Australian Standards or my contract? They're generic starting templates, not a compliance guarantee. Add the requirements from your project specification, drawings, contract and approval conditions, and confirm hold points with the engineer or certifier.

Can I edit the items? Yes. All item text is editable, each ITP has blank rows, and the sheets are protected without a password.

Can I print it? Yes. Everything is set up for A4, and blank printable PDFs are included.

LICENCE

Single-business licence. Use and modify the files for your own business's projects and share completed records with your clients, consultants, certifiers and authorities. Do not resell, share, upload or redistribute the templates themselves, edited or unedited.

DISCLAIMER

These files are a general record-keeping aid and generic templates. They are not legal, engineering, WHS or quality-assurance advice and do not replace your contract, quality plan, the engineer's design, the NCC, relevant Australian Standards, WHS laws or authority and certifier requirements, which take precedence.
