Safe Zone Mapping
Safe Zone Mapping – Group Therapy Worksheet
Help clients explore what helps them feel safe, what warning signs they need to watch for, and what puts them at risk — all through a creative, visual mapping activity.
The Safe Zone Mapping worksheet includes three areas:
- Safe Zone (center): What helps me feel calm, grounded, and okay
- Warning Signs & Triggers (middle ring): What throws me off balance
- Danger Zone (outer edge): What puts me at risk or leads to crisis
Clients can use words, drawings, symbols, or collage materials to complete their maps. This hands-on format supports emotional awareness, self-reflection, and connection with peers when shared in pairs or small groups.
This activity is ideal for groups focused on:
- Emotional regulation
- Trauma recovery
- Coping skills
- Safety planning
