Seven calculators for pricing pet sitting and dog walking from your own numbers, not from anyone's rate sheet. Start with sheet 1: the income you want becomes an hourly floor rate -- $43.75 in the worked example. Sheet 2 prices a visit with the drive counted, sheet 3 an overnight stay (hours on duty against hours of care), and sheet 5 shows when a group walk earns more than a solo one. Every figure is an example for you to overwrite. These are estimates, not tax or legal advice. Every formula was recalculated and checked against an independent implementation before this shipped.

What is in it

7 calculators, one per sheet. Overwrite the blue cells with your own numbers and everything else follows — nothing is locked, there are no macros, and it opens in Excel, Numbers, LibreOffice and Google Sheets.

  • Hourly floor rate — What must an hour of pet care earn to pay you?
  • Price per visit — What should one drop-in visit cost, drive included?
  • Overnight stays — What should a night in the client's home cost?
  • Multiple pets — What should each extra pet add to the price?
  • Dog walks, solo and group — Does a group walk earn more per hour than a solo walk?
  • Holiday premium — What premium makes working a holiday worth it?
  • Weekly capacity and income — Does this week's schedule fit, and what does it pay?

Every formula was checked

This pack contains 40 formulas. Before it was published, every one of them was recalculated by a spreadsheet engine and compared against an independent implementation of the same arithmetic written in Python. All 40 agreed to within a cent, and the workbook carries a Verification sheet saying so.

That is an unusual thing to be able to claim about a spreadsheet, and it is the main reason to buy this one rather than download a free template. A formula that looks right and is wrong is worse than no formula at all, because you will act on it.

What each calculator assumes

There is a sheet listing this, because a calculator that hides its assumptions is just a number generator:

  • Paid hours are your estimate of hours clients actually pay for. The tax set-aside is a share you enter, not a computed tax.
  • Drive time is paid at the same rate as time with the pet. Cost per mile is your own estimate, not the IRS standard mileage rate.
  • Standby pay is your pricing choice. Daytime visits during a multi-day stay are priced separately on sheet 2. Meals and lodging the client provides are not valued.
  • Every added pet takes the same extra minutes. Pets needing medication or separate walks belong in the minutes.
  • All dogs in a group are picked up on one route and the driving cost does not change with the group. Group size limits and leash rules where you walk are not modeled.
  • The premium applies to the visit price only, not to add-ons. Which days count as holidays is your policy.
  • Overnight stays are counted for revenue but not for daytime hours. Every working week looks like this one.

What this is not

Not financial, tax or legal advice, and not a recommendation to buy, sell, borrow or sign anything. These are calculators: they show what a choice costs, not which choice is right for you. Where a published rate or threshold is used it is the one current when the pack was built — those change, the arithmetic does not.

Honest about the format

One .xlsx workbook, 7 calculator sheets plus Start Here, Assumptions and Verification. Not a PDF, not a physical product, not a Notion template. Available immediately after purchase; nothing ships.
