Til the Cowls Come Home knitting pattern
Holy Cowl this is a fun project! The pattern began as a Mystery (cowl) Knit A Long with Three Clues being released in Jan 2018. Purchase of the pattern includes the FULL non-mystery pattern.
This project is great for stash busting and using up parital skeins of yarn. You will need 145-150 yards (each) of 4 different colors of fingering weight yarn (great for some of those Fade leftovers!).
The construction is really fun and surprising: You knit mostly back and forth, but still end up with a circular cowl with no seaming at all.
What Materials and Skills Do I Need?
Gauge is 22 sts & 32 rows/4” (after blocking) in stst (on the bias) on size 5 (3.75 mm) needle (or size to obtain gauge)
The cowl measures approx. 21.5” high, and 25” in circumference
There is a lot of 2 color striping! If you love stripes, this will be your thing.
There will be a few puns. If you love bad puns, this may also be your thing. (if you hate puns, just ignore my sense of humor…)
There is stockinette stitch, both in the round and back-and-forth; You will need to do some yarn overs and some different increases and decreases.
There is no brioche or stranded colorwork.
You will need about 145-150 yards EACH of 4 colors of fingering weight or sock weight yarn.
