Our love for Beatrix Potter grew when we started reading the books she wrote and illustrated. Her love for art and animals seem to be the connecting spark for my daughter. So we decided to have our own unit study of Helen Beatrix Potter.
Since then we started learning more about the life and works of Beatrix Potter. She even tried to make her own stories too. It was a refreshing read. This was learning kindled by her own interest.
Did you know Beatrix Potter didn't write her stories to publish them? Her stories were first letters. She would send them to children she are close to when they were sick or for their birthdays. An amazing surprise as we learn more about her.
