Christmas Tree Craft Writing Prompt Worksheets Sub Plans Art Lesson Winter Art
This Christmas Tree Craft and Write resource combines an art and craft lesson with fiction and non-fiction writing. Students follow a tutorial to make a Christmas tree craft, then add their own artist flavor to the design so each tree is unique. The craft is inspired by the style of the Ms Artastic YouTube Channel.
After the craft, students complete writing inspired by what they made, using planning pages, prompt pages or blank writing pages. The lesson finishes with coloring, reflections and 3 Stars and a Wish. With adaptable templates and primary and intermediate writing pages, it suits Grades 1 to 5.

HOW TO USE IT
Photocopy the craft elements and put a few out at each table so students can pick the ones they want. Save the unused pieces with the lesson plan for next year, for less prep and less waste. The templates suit different skill levels, so it works as a quick activity or a more detailed project.
Once the trees are finished, guide students into the writing. Choose fiction or non-fiction, primary or intermediate pages, or blank paper, depending on your learners. Students practice drawing, crafting and writing in one lesson, and the peer feedback and reflection pages round it off.
