This book is not for profit. It is the result of a 50 years of searching for our oldest Phillips ancestors and learning more about allied families, for example, the Gabriel Butler, Capt. John Mitchell, and Richardson families, are only a few of many allied families connected to the Phillips surname.

Also of interest is where they came from in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales in the 1700s and where they eventually lived in the Southeast.  This is covered in the first 17 pages.

Research was conducted in the National Archives in Washington, D. C., courthouses, state libraries, and archives in Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee.   Interviews with older family members were also invaluable.

The remainders of the book contain information about the Phillips and allied families who migrated west to the Alabama and Mississippi Territories in the early 1800s and for some families it covers up to the early 1990s.  There are over 195 pages of old photographs.  Thousands of descendants who now live coast to coast have been identified.  Your family may be one of those identified.  An addendum that list many of those descendants will be furnished later free of charge.

Since this is a nonprofit book, any profit from the sale of this book will be given to charitable efforts like the rescue of family a Phillips Cemetery that has been neglected, placement of historical markers, and further research if needed.

This is a reprint of my 1995 Phillips Book that sold out many years ago and many have asked for a reprint.  Just the cost of printing a hard copy of the 1995 book would be about $44.00 and postage would increase the cost to about $48.00.  That is the reason it is now offered as an E-Book at an exceptionally low price.

Please do not reprint or furnish the e-file to anyone because it is illegal and consider that funds go to charity.  You are welcome to pay more than the price to help our cause.
