Welcome to our new e-newsletter. I wrote to you all a few weeks ago explaining some of the changes we are considering in the way we run PlantNetwork and asking for your thoughts via the member survey. Thanks to all of you who took part and we will be discussing the results at our next Board meeting in February and will feed back to you all in future issues. Results of the survey will certainly help to shape what we do in many areas, but one thing we wanted to initiate was this newsletter to accompany the more traditional printed one. I hope you like it.
These are both exciting and challenging times for PlantNetwork. Gardens face growing threats from environmental, institutional and financial instability, and coordinating efforts and sharing knowledge will be more important than ever. This is what we do best. Communication in particular needs to be quick, responsive and interac- tive and this newsletter is part of our move towards providing a more diverse and ‘shared’ range of media through which we can develop and strengthen our network.
Please let us know what you think and, most importantly, contribute to future editions. Many thanks
