Two counted cross stitch patterns inspired by the designs on the back of a bronze mirror found at Trelan Bahow, Cornwall. It dates back to the 1st century BCE and is now housed in the British Museum.

The Summer and Winter Solstices are important points in the natural calendar and these designs celebrate this cycle.

DESIGN DETAILS (applies to both designs)

  • Stitch count 98 x 98
  • Size on 14/28 count fabric: 7 x 7 inches (18 x 18cm)
  • Threads: DMC stranded cotton
  • Technique: whole cross stitch

The pattern files include two versions of the charts (one in black and white and one in colour), symbol keys and colour images of the finished designs.
