A great set of 32 Acts of Kindness task cards for your classroom! Inspire kindness in your classroom. This is a great way to encourage students to do helpful and kind things when they're done their work. Have them readily available in your classroom and encourage them to select one and do the task!

Why Teach Kindness?

Schools and classrooms can be stressful for students in addition to any issues your students bring from home. With every class, creating a community is very important and teaching students how to participate in community is a priority. It is hard for students to learn when they are feeling left out from friendships and others are not being kind. Even students in upper elementary and middle school levels struggle with friendships and showing kindness to one another. It is very painful for individuals when they are ignored or teased and it can be very impactful if students learned how to show kindness through understanding empathy and compassion.

What are task cards?

Task cards are a great way to get students thinking creatively, reinforce skills and offer enrichment in a classroom. They are way better than a worksheet because, unlike a worksheet, task cards can be used over and over again! And unlike a worksheet, there is only one task so students do not feel overwhelmed. They can do one or they can do them all!

How to prep task cards:

You can really do what suits you best, but ultimately you:

  • all are hand drawn and in gray scale to save you color
  • can laminate them for long lasting use
  • put cards in a bin/jar/basket/baggie and have students independently select a card to do
  • hole-punch a corner and put on a ring and do one at a time as a class

How to Use Task Cards:

  • Use them as prompts for the entire class or different ones for individuals
  • Use them as assignments
  • Use them for centers
  • Use them for group work- assign groups a different card and share work later
  • Allows students options so they can do work that they are passionate about
  • Use them for Fast Finishers/When You’re Done
  • Use them instead of photocopying TONS OF WORKSHEETS!

Photocopy and have them readily available.
