Nothing is as Sweet as a Mother's Love

As soon as I designed this lovely heart lace pattern, I knew it needed to be something special. Then I found out that a lovely gentle lady that I know was having her first baby, and it was going to be a boy.
So I designed this shawl as a small item that she could pop round her shoulders whilst nursing the baby. The main body is a pale pink with the edging knitted in a blue yarn.

Construction - It is a semi crescent shawl knitted top down with a lace edge added on sideways at the end.

Finished Size -  59" x 19" / 150cm x 48.5cm after blocking

Yarn - 4 Ply yarn, approx 600m / 660 yds
Yarn used in the sample - Main Colour : Down Sheepy Lane, Comfy Sock (80/20 Superwash Merino/Nylon) in Blushing Bride, 365m / 399yds per 100g
                                          - Contrast Colour ; Yarn for the Soul, High Twist Silk Sock (80/20 Superwash Merino/Silk) yarn in Mount Fiji, 365m / 399yds per 100g 

Needles - 3.5mm
