HAD-DIG-009 — Digital Hadith, Artificial Intelligence, Databases, Ontologies, Knowledge Graphs and Intelligent Systems
Description:
This theme addresses the design, development, evaluation, validation and responsible deployment of digital technologies for Hadith research, preservation, discovery and scholarly access. It covers digital Hadith repositories and databases, corpus digitisation, metadata architecture, data provenance, structured datasets, ontology engineering, semantic-web technologies, linked data, knowledge graphs, narrator networks, intelligent information retrieval, semantic search, recommendation systems, question-answering platforms, chatbots, retrieval-augmented generation, generative AI, large language models and AI-assisted Hadith research. The literature demonstrates the transition from conventional digital repositories toward machine-readable and semantically interconnected Hadith resources. SemanticHadith, for example, models six prominent Hadith collections as an RDF-based knowledge graph using an ontology designed around core Hadith structures, with the goal of enabling semantic search and knowledge discovery.
