THE HOLY SPIRIT IGNORED

As of 2010, there were 2.2 billion Christians (32% of the world’s population), 1.6 billion Muslims (23%), 1 billion Hindus (15%), nearly 500 million Buddhists (7%) and 14 million Jews (0.2%). Since Muslims believe that God had previously revealed Himself to the earlier prophets of the Jews and Christians, such as Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, they tend to follow the Ten Commandments.

Thus, the morals of the majority of the world, believe in the Ten Commandments. Jesus Christ came and added the 11th Commandment, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” They all believe in the sixth Commandment, “Thou shall not kill.” Other Bible verses amplify what the sixth commandment says.

“Deuteronomy 19:10-that innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the Lord God giveth thee... Deut. 27:25 cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person…Jesus says this in Matthew 18:6, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea..”

Christian bishops, deacons, elders, and pastors take vows to God to follow the word of God, the Bible. In doing so, they promise to keep and support the sixth Commandment that says, thou shall not kill.

Yet, since 1973 some in the church hierarchy, have approved of killing 63 million innocent babies in the United States and 1.5 billion worldwide. Overall, if a specific church does not support the Abortion Holocaust and they remain silent or say very little about it, they are a party to the slaughter of innocent babies. The numbers killed via abortion greatly outnumbers the number killed during the Nazi Holocaust.

This book looks at the history (actions and decisions) of the past and present hierarchy of the Church. Until Martin Luther’s reform movement in 1527 there was only the Catholic Church, led by all powerful popes. As they say, “power corrupts and absolute power absolutely corrupts.”

The book also looks at the more recent history of the Protestant Church. That is, many verses in the Bible say if you live a sinful lifestyle, including a homosexual lifestyle, you cannot enter the Kingdom of God. Apparently some bishops do not believe what the Bible says about sexually immoral lifestyles and this includes those who practice a homosexual lifestyle. This verse does not apply to those .who abstain .

Jesus told his followers that the Holy Spirit would be sent to comfort, defend, and guide all them.  Various scriptures tell us that Christians are filled the Holy Spirit when they are baptized and from that day forward we are to be in continuous contact with the Holy Spirit who dwells in our hearts and minds. 

If the Holy Spirit is in the heart and mind of the Church’s hierarchy, the Holy Spirit would not tell them to kill babies. So they either asked for guidance and disobeyed the Holy Spirit or they did not ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and ignored the Holy Spirit.

The same question will be asked concerning the decisions of popes when they issued their papal bull concerning the Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, Destruction of Indigenous People, and the 30-Year War. These papal bulls directed Christians to kill other people for one reason or another, often a political reason. Millions died as a result of the papal bulls that are to be questioned. The popes are fallible.

The bigger question is: Has the role of the Holy Spirit and Bible been minimized or ignored somehow, sometime, someway? If it has been, is this why the present-day mainline Protestant churches are drastically declining in membership?

How can the Holy Spirit be restored to its rightful place and role in the Church? The future of civilization may depend how the Holy Spirit is treated.

Men now have nuclear weapons that are capable of destroying the world unless we follow the Sixth Commandment, Thou shall not kill!

Our future depends on men, especially the church hierarchy, being led and guided by the Holy Spirit and the commandments of God and his son, Jesus Christ, that is, to love your neighbor as yourself.

If this does not motivate Christians to pay greater homage to the Holy Spirit, we may be doomed. I pray that all good men come together for peace!
