What an enigma! So many girls are switching from smoking to vaping in the UK. How refreshing that Amy, 37 has recently started smoking.

Having started vaping 2 years ago when she was 35 Amy quickly became dependent on nicotine. Then, offered a cigarette outside of a nightclub she enjoyed the sensation of smoking more than vaping. And so her addiction intensified.

As well as smoking there's some cool on-topic conversation with Amy. Pressing her on her addiction I ask:

“So, did you smoke before you started vaping?” She's answers: “No, it doesn't make any sense.”

This revelation bucks the trend of most smokers in the UK. They tend to switch to vaping to reduce their cigarette consumption. Amy started vaping in her mid-thirties and recently tried cigarettes!

The extensive interview segment continued with some more questions related to smoking and Amy's evolving addiction:

“Do you like the head rush?” “Yeah I guess that's why people do it for that.”

Interestingly I ask Amy:

“Would you be tempted to smoke more in the future?” She answers: “Yeah I've got some at home and they do help. So, every now and again. It wouldn't be everyday though.”

This is an interesting announcement. I recall Ange (a model I filmed a few years ago on her journey from non-smoker to smoker: here's the link to her content - https://payhip.com/b/7Atvj) who also claimed she wouldn't smoke full-time but after a couple of years was smoking on a daily basis.

There is a high possibility that Amy will start smoking regularly. It's likely she will retain her vaping habit but she will probably also become a regular smoker. I've witnessed models like Ange and Kasey who went on a similar journey from non-smoker to smoker.

The evidence suggests that Amy is now on a similar journey. She understands the addictive quality of cigarettes. She says: “...but it's quite addictive this nicotine.” Nonetheless this doesn't deter her from enjoying smoking.

The interview continues and Amy claims:

“It goes with alcohol quite well as well. When you're out in town, when you've had a few drinks, you just start wanting that little buzz.”

As well as the on-topic dialogue I also allow conversation to flow into other areas. You'll notice that Amy is quite shy so to make her comfortable I allowed her to control the conversation. I also didn't want to keep pressuring her with questions solely about smoking.

As a novice smoker Amy struggles in lighting her cigarettes and her drags are tentative. However, because of her habit of vaping she is accustomed to inhaling the smoke.

Recently Amy has purchased a packet of cigarettes for herself at home. I surmise that once she consumes those cigarettes she'll purchase some more.

I'm eager to stay in contact with Amy; there's a possibility that I might be able to capture a novice smoker becoming increasingly addicted to cigarettes. Particularly when I ask her: “Do you find smoking relaxing then?” And her reply is: “Yeah definitely.”

Watch this space; within a few months Amy might become fully addicted to cigarettes.
