While working with this beautiful yarn from Ancestral Fiber Co., I wanted to honor one of my ancestors. My Great Aunt Millie Modrow was always an inspiration to me. I loved her so much and she loved me no matter my childish flaws. She was the kindest person with the best sense of humor that I still miss to this day. I have named this shawl after her.

This is a bottom-up Tunisian crochet triangular shawl which takes advantage of a large hook and fingering-weight yarn to produce a light, lacy piece with four colors and plenty of interesting texture. It is an airy springtime piece that will gently insulate your shoulders until warmer summer temperatures arrive. It is recommended for an advanced beginner in Tunisian crochet.

Don’t forget to write to your loved ones.

The sample shawl used four colors in fingering weight yarn (less than one skein each):

• C3: Belvedere Blue, 105yds (96m)
• C4: Aurora, 110yds (101m)
