The Hidden Heart

What happens when the person behind the performance is struggling?

The Hidden Heart is a way of thinking about the emotional experiences that sit behind an actor’s professional behavior.

These experiences may influence things such as:

● perfectionism  ● over-working  ● comparison

● people-pleasing ● emotional guarding

● difficulty with intimacy  ● burnout

● feeling like you are “not enough”

● struggling after a performance

VULNERABILITY CAN REMAIN HIDDEN WHEN THERE ISN’T SPACE TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT

The workshop explores how patterns can develop as ways of protecting ourselves. The aim is not to label or diagnose an actor.

Instead, we ask:

What might this behavior be telling us and how, as facilitators, can we respond?
