Mock Turtle Soup Cowl

This is almost the simplest of simple cowls, designed to get a new knitter comfortably alternating between a knit stitch and a purl stitch. Designed to use up all of a single skein of Berroco Wizard, it makes a long cowl that can be worn scrunched up, or folded over for a doubled (or mock turtleneck) look. A self-striping or gradient yarn will keep the 2x2 ribbing intriguing as the cowl grows.

Supplies:

• 250-275 yards of chunky weight yarn. Shown in Berroco Wizard.
• US9 (5.5mm) 14" circular needle.
• Stitch marker.
• Tapestry needle.
