When Abram was 99 years old, God appeared to him again to confirm His covenant. God did two major

things: First, He changed Abram's name to Abraham ('Father of a Multitude') and Sarai's name to Sarah

('Princess'). Second, He instituted the physical sign of circumcision. In the ancient world, covenants required a

permanent, physical mark so no one could forget them. Today, we are exploring the power of a new identity,

the historical significance of covenant signs, and how God ultimately wants a 'circumcision of the heart.'
