Earth has a sister. Her name is Malacria, and they are twins. At a glance, they appear just alike, but, as with all twins, personalities differ....
Ramirez wakes from a week of nightmarish delirium to find himself imprisoned with one of the marshals who had been tracking him the month before. Joining forces, they manage to escape, bringing out several others with them, and discovering corruption in the government, and in the marshals in this country, reaching a level best described as cancerous. Although they weren’t expecting to stay together much past the cell they
started in, the criminal and the cop now find themselves sticking together at least as far as the border of this land as they flee.
Aerinna returns to the hospital after her stint as a field medic with the team chasing Ramirez to find herself scheduled for a rotation in the psychiatric ward. There she encounters a young woman suffering with a bizarre set of symptoms that none of the doctors in that department have been able to find a cause or cure for. Then the young woman bites Aerinna on accident during one of these episodes, and Aerinna starts to experience similar symptoms.
Reivax gets a visit at his gym during a workout from two of the working gods. Gravis, the god of science, wants him to reach out to Arnibus, gives him an address to use and saying nothing more than to make contact. Morella, the goddess of death, has a slightly more complicated job. An old acquaintance of Reivax’s is sending her priests a lot of business at their mortuaries, and Morella is counting on Reivax to put a stop to it.
Enteves signs up for work with a mercenary team, not knowing that it’s a company owned by Arnibus, who has been looking for him since the day they crossed paths so violently several weeks before during the chase to catch Ramirez. And when Arnibus realizes that Enteves fights just like Reivax, suspicions about the big burly fighter’s identity and origins begin to brew.
Picking up right where the first book stopped and taking off at a gallop right out of the gate, the second book of the Malacria saga pushes the story beyond the limits of any fantasy epic you’ve ever read or imagined.
