Dassault Mercure 100 — 3D CAD Restoration Project – DXF Laser Cuter Pack
Dassault Mercure 100 — 3D CAD Restoration Project (2025 Edition)
This project is a high-fidelity 3D CAD reconstruction of the Dassault Mercure 100, a short-range French airliner that has become one of the rarest commercial aircraft in aviation history. The model is built from scratch using archival drawings, scattered technical references, and photographic measurement techniques.
The goal is simple:
- To digitally preserve an aircraft whose physical presence has nearly vanished.
- This CAD is intended for aviation enthusiasts, model builders, flight-sim modders, engineers, and anyone who wants to explore the geometry of an uncommon airliner that disappeared far too quickly.
The model is rebuilt from the ground up using:
- Surviving brochure diagrams
- Engineering sketches
- The few remaining technical references available publicly
- The goal is not just to “model” the aircraft — but to digitally revive an aircraft that almost vanished from aerospace history.
- Two engines attached are included based on original planes:
- JT-8D series
- Both are modeled with smooth, aerodynamic CAD lofts suitable for visualization or engineering workflows.
The Dassault Mercure 100 was Dassault’s bold attempt to break into the commercial jetliner market during the 1970s. It entered a world dominated by the Boeing 737 and the Douglas DC-9—tough competitors even for military aviation legends like Dassault.
This aircraft is imagined as:
- The entire model is engineered in SolidWorks using true NURBS lofted surfaces, giving it wind-tunnel-grade smoothness and precise aerodynamic form.
- Every external surface — wings, fuselage, nacelles, empennage — is crafted using parametric engineering lofts suitable for 3D printing, rendering, CFD study, and RC design.
What You Can Do With These Packs
Depending on the pack you choose, you can:
- 3D print the aircraft
- Build RC laser-cut models
- Perform CAD or CFD analysis
- Render it in Blender
- Create posters, stickers, and merch
- Study the engineering form
This product line is divided into clear “factory-floor” production tiers for different users: 3D printers, CAD engineers, RC builders, artists, and hobbyists.
