early signs of pregnancy, for a large number of women, the first and only sign remains the delay in the menstrual cycle. Others manage to feel the subtle early symptoms of pregnancy long before that. Everything, of course, is strictly individual and depends on both the threshold of sensitivity of each woman and the intensity of the signals that our body gives us.

Nature seems to have endowed the female body with the amazing ability to recognize extremely important physiological changes, such as the approaching cycle or the symptoms of ovulation . This also applies in full force to the pregnancy. Pregnancy symptoms often mimic those of premenstrual syndrome (PMS).

If you are currently trying to conceive, be alert for some important early signs of pregnancy.

When do we talk about early signs of pregnancy?

These are the sometimes subtle signs of pregnancy that coincide with the fertilization phase and the subsequent implantation of the embryo in the lining of the uterus.

This is the period of about 2 weeks between ovulation and the theoretical date of the beginning of the next menstrual cycle . Pregnancy tests during this period still cannot confirm or rule out pregnancy.

Are there any sure signs of pregnancy? pregnancyinside

In short, not quite. As already mentioned, the symptoms and signs that you may feel are not very specific to pregnancy and for the most part overlap with those of premenstrual syndrome. There are, however, exceptions.

Implantation bleeding
Implantation bleeding is one of the most indicative early signs of pregnancy. It occurs about 6-12 days after ovulation and conception, which is shortly before the expected date of the next menstrual period.

Implantation of a fertilized egg into the uterine wall can cause discreet bleeding or simple staining of the underwear. The blood is usually lighter than usual during menstruation. You may also experience mild pain and tightness in the small pelvis.

The reason for the appearance of implantation bleeding is the implantation of the embryo in the uterine lining, which disrupts the integrity of the small blood vessels.

The appearance of such discreet bleeding should not worry you - this is normal. The stain usually disappears within a few days. Unlike the menstrual cycle, implantation bleeding does not last more than 1-2 days.

Caution: Prolonged and heavy bleeding may be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. In these cases, be sure to consult a medical professional!

In some women, implantation bleeding is not observed, despite a successful pregnancy.

Change in the condition of the breasts
In the first two weeks after conception, under the influence of hormonal changes, your breasts may become sensitive and painful. In some women, this is accompanied by a feeling of tighter and thicker breasts.

Darkening of the areolas is another sign that is specific to pregnancy and can hardly be mistaken for premenstrual syndrome. Often this symptom is accompanied by a change in the nipples and an increase in the diameter of the areola.

The appearance of these symptoms is more pronounced after 3-4 weeks of pregnancy and may be absent in the beginning.

Change in basal body temperature

Basal body temperature is an indicator of pregnancy when it is higher than usual. If the basal temperature stays higher than normal for 2 weeks, it may be a sign that you are pregnant.

Constipation

The onset of pregnancy and related hormonal changes slow down digestion and intestinal function. In this way, your body absorbs as many vitamins and minerals from food as possible. If you have constipation, consult a doctor before taking medication for this - some of them could harm the fetus.

Frequent urge to urinate
Even before finding a delay in their menstrual cycle, many women have complaints of more frequent than just going to the toilet. This happens after the egg is implanted in the lining of the uterus. It is due to the release of a pregnancy-specific hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). It causes more frequent urges to urinate.

Fatigue
Most women feel significantly more tired in the first trimester of pregnancy. This is due to the increased production of the hormone progesterone. In the early stages of pregnancy, progesterone levels in the blood increase rapidly. Progesterone is known to cause drowsiness in high enough doses. Higher levels of fatigue are common during the first trimester of pregnancy, after which they usually subside.

Fatigue, in itself, can hardly be a good indicator of a successful conception, unless combined with some of the safer early symptoms of pregnancy.

Nausea and vomiting
Also known as "morning sickness", this well-known symptom usually appears between the first and eighth week of conception. Some women experience these symptoms at different times of the day, not just in the morning. In others, they are completely absent or continue throughout pregnancy.

You may have heard from pregnant women that they themselves felt the onset of their pregnancy. You may feel mood swings, fatigue or other signs of pregnancy in a very mild form. Sometimes you just feel that changes are taking place in your body. In many women, hormonal changes go unnoticed, while others experience even the smallest ones.

Delayed menstruation
Of course, this is one of the safest and most familiar signs of pregnancy. In most cases, it can be a good indicator, but in women with an irregular cycle, it is often misleading.

If you have an irregular cycle and you suspect that you may be pregnant, we recommend that you use a pregnancy test . In such cases, tests may be needed more often than in women with regular menstruation.
