The beauty in the difference of what families look like, to the beauty of how each of us experiences, explains or even creates their own family. The lessons, privileges and even disappointments and such. All this can be expected when you live with others
For me, family has to be people and places that feel like comfort to me, people that feel like home, the hours spent in solitude, meditating, growing, self introspecting, when me, myself and I are having board meeting, and still be able to enjoy the time spent in laughter and tears with those who make me feel heard and innerstood, my tribe, the mystics.
I think the best thing about family is that, you can curate it yourself, bring close to you those that you want, all in good spirit, the people that respect your boundaries, hear your truth and keep you checked. Take out those who make you feel like you are shinning your light too brightly. Kick out the people who always habe something nagative to say, those who gossip, shut them outm
We encourage all our readers to reflect on their own blood families, the bad and the good, and ask yourself, what can you learn from this, what can inspire you to be a better version of yourself, whether traumatic or empowering.
Also, may we really recognize ourselves, minds, bodies and souls, as these are the foundations of our relationships and family. To be aware and ilove with these is to open up ourselves to learning more about who we are and what makes us happy.
With this issue we celebrate those who celebrate others, we recognize women who hold homes together, build communities and Sistas who are healing with others. This edition of Sista Bosso Magazine acknowledges the need and value of society, community and socialization.
As we prepare for a time in the year when family comes together, all sorts of families, at home, work, batho ba strata and all, I hope that we do not only celebrate our relations, but also our abilities to love, accept and grow together with other through the ups and downs.
