1. MAT-FUN-001 — Material Characterization Foundations, Research Objectives, Material Systems and Characterization Strategy
Description
This Master Prompt establishes the scientific and methodological foundation for planning, conducting, interpreting and reporting material-characterization research. It treats characterization as a hypothesis-driven process for establishing defensible relationships among material origin, composition, processing history, structure, morphology, interfaces, defects, physical state, properties, environmental response and engineering performance rather than as a routine collection of instrument outputs. The framework requires the researcher to define what must be known about the material, at what spatial and temporal scale, under which conditions, by which direct or indirect measurement, with what uncertainty, and how each observation contributes to answering the research question.
