Latcho Drom - A journey in short stories and poems
Flora and Fauno are on a quest of self-discovery, seeking connections with their ancestral landscapes and discovering themselves and each other as they move from place to place. Amongst fantastical creatures and old relatives, fellow bus passengers and their own inner voices, their observations are entertaining and picaresque. Alternating between prose and poetry, this minute book reminded me of the importance of story and that perhaps the migratory spirit of our humanity bequests the readers with some of the philosophical questions they present each other. When traveling and away from our familiar, we are able to observe what surrounds us more acutely, and that is palpable in this book, as they go about fi nding meaning in the mundane, with a playfulness that is refreshing.
