There’s something about long diagonal lines that seems hopeful to me, as if to encourage me that what I’m looking for is within my reach. The cadence of knit and purl stitches in this reversible gender-inclusive cowl form elegant diagonal lines. A tubular cast-on and bind-off create smooth edges to this wearable accessory. The cowl is entirely reversible with no clear inside, outside, top or bottom. REACH FOR IT: whatever it is you’re looking for. 
This pattern is written for 2 sizes in a table format.

YARN
2 skeins of Knit Picks Twill, 100% Superwash Merino, 149 yd /136 m per 100 g or similar heavy worsted / aran weight yarn.

Size 1: 249 yd / 228 m (167 g)
Size 2: 230 yd / 210 m (154 g)
Yarn estimate includes 10% buffer

GAUGE & NEEDLES
20 stitches & 27 rounds = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette stitch in the round
US 7 / 4.5 mm circular needle, 16” / 40 cm for Size 1, and either 16” / 40 cm or 24” / 60 cm for Size 2 or size needed to get gauge
